Star of the Week

Sweet Gracie is star of the week in her class next week. This is her
poster. Tomorrow we will make a cookie cake for her class to
celebrate. It's exhausting being related to a star.

Cindy Playground Grand Opening 2009

We love Crazy Uncle Brian!

Gracie is making a poster for her time as star of the week. She is
supposed to include pictures of her family. This is one she chose. We
love it. I'm waiting on her to decide what she wants the caption to
be....

No School Fun Day!!!

Spike's Midnight Revenge

Last night at around 12:30 I dreamed that a dog was growling at me. It seemed so real that I woke up only to learn that a dog really was growling at me. Spike, my pudgy white bulldog, was sitting in the doorway of my bedroom trying his darndest to get me up to let him out the door. This has been an ongoing ritual that I have been trying to break my four-legged nemesis from. Most times when I let him out at midnight he simply wants a drink of water and that's not worth waking up for. I scolded Spike and told him to get back on his bed. He complied and I quickly fell back asleep.

An hour later I awoke again. This time to Gracie and Addie in my room screaming that Spike had defecated on the floor of their room. And if that wasn't bad enough, the 5-year-old had stepped in it. But she didn't just step in it. Somehow she had Spike discard all down her pajama pants and she had tracked it all the way across the house to my room, screaming, appropriately waking the baby, who was now also screaming - all of this happening in the middle of the night. Spike being "my dog", I got to cleaning. Mama bear eventually woke up to console the baby and let me know that Spike was "out of here."

I guess you could say Spike made his point. Looks like it may backfire on him though. Anita Beth asked me this morning where I would be taking Spike today. Please pray for Spike.

Christmas Princess Checkers

Even changing the rules mid-game, Iris could only take me to a draw. Something about having your mother-in-law around the house for 12 straight days makes checkers more intense.
